What does this blog consist in?

Just disordered bits and pieces, I'm afraid.
Sometimes the entries are topics which I find interesting, sometimes they are just songs my students (or I)  like and their lyrics and sometimes they are things I think will be useful for an English lesson at Secondary School.

25th November is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
This date came from the brutal assassination of the three Mirabal sisters, political activists in the Dominican Republic, on orders of Dominican ruler Rafael Trujillo in 1960.

Antonio Banderas, one of Spain’s top Hollywood stars, has been awarded a doctor honoris causa degree by the University of Malaga, his home town, in recognition of his career which includes acting roles in 27 films in Spain, and 36 in the USA, as well as directing and producing several more and winning numerous awards. “I_don’t know that I deserve this”, he said in his acceptance speech, adding that he was “deeply grateful” for the honour. Banderas’ mother and brother both attended Wednesday’s ceremony in Malaga.
